O come, O come Emmanuel and ransom captive Israel that mourns in lonely exile here until the Son of God appears.
It might as well say…God come down and rescue me.
I’m the one that sometimes feels like an exile and the coming of the Son of God in my heart and in my daily life is as eagerly anticipated as it was when all of Israel longed for the coming of the Messiah.
Here’s hoping that the reality of the lyrics of those dearly loved Christmas songs will explode in our hearts not just now but every day.
