As Floridians, there is a lot about August that is “sticky.” As temperatures and the humidity soar, life can get really sticky. Mosquitos in your sunscreen, your legs to your leather couch and your relationship with your soon-to-be kindergartner as you explain why you’re taking him away from home and leaving him there. (Be encouraged Mom- you will both not only survive but actually flourish.)

That’s why ReachFM is encouraging you to be a part of “LoveSticks.” It’s a fast, easy, inexpensive and highly effective way to share a little of God’s love over the next couple of weeks.

Here’s how you do it:

  • Grab a pad of sticky notes and a pen.
  • Start looking for opportunities- the restroom mirror on the toll-road, a co-worker’s computer, the car next to you in the parking lot with the three car seats inside, your teenager’s car keys.
  • Write a short note of encouragement- like-  God loves you. Your smile lights up a room. God has an amazing adventure for you today. You are totally unique. There could never be a more beautiful you (thanks Jonny Diaz). The message is up to you and your creativity.
  • If you like, take a picture and post it on the ReachFM Facebook or Twitter pages so that we can pray with you for the ones who see it and benefit from your great ideas (my way of saying- steal it and use it myself!)
  • Repeat

Every day I talk to someone about their desire to make a difference in the lives of those around them. I not only understand, I find myself in the same position.

Love Sticks is simple. So simple that you may overlook the incredible potential it has to brighten the day of someone who just needed to know they were not alone.

Question: What will your Love Sticks note say? Where will you post it?

This works! Anitra, you encouraged me with the posted “God loves you right now!” on a sticky note and put it on my computer screen. Thanks for walking the talk!
